PIER Provides Communications Platform for the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV Joint Information Center (JIC)

Once again, the PIER System will be used to support regional communications by providing the communications platform for the Joint Information Center (JIC) for Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida. As in previous years, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) initiated the use of a PIER JIC site to establish regional communications and interoperability for Miami region agencies during the event.

Using PIER, members of the JIC will be able to communicate with one another, share information, collaborate on public and media releases, and send information to contacts via PIER's various distribution channels. The efficiency of using a single comprehensive platform will help agencies reduce incident response time and ensure safety before, during and after the game.

PIER provides a wide variety of communication tools on a single platform including: text messaging, phone notifications, easy web content management, email distribution, social media connectivity, inquiry management, media monitoring, media clips, and more.

PIER sites can be set-up and ready to go in minutes, are highly secure, and allow agencies to participate under NIMS guidelines without Firewall restrictions, seat-license restrictions and other common obstacles encountered when coordinating multi-agency communications.

PIER supports communication to multiple audiences including internal communication, inter-agency communication, public communication, community relations and media communications, and is the widely adopted standard for crisis and emergency communication for many government agencies.
